Braided line (dyneema)knots

Dyneema is a superstrong fiber made from polyethyleen (UHMWPE = ultra high molecular weight polyethylene).

It is not wise to pull a knot swiftly.
The heat that is released can damage the lines.
First wet the knot and then pull gently.
The lines slides more easily, there's less heat development and the knot will become tighter.

De palomarknot

1 Double the line.
2 Put a overhandse knot with the loop of the hook, ring or wartel in the loop.
3 Slide the loop over the knot.
4 Wet the knot.
5 Pull the knot tightly.

A variant of the palomarknot

1 Double the line.
2 Leg een overhandse knot with the loop of the hook, ring or wartel in the loop, put the loop 3 times through the overhandse knot.

The Albright knot

1 Make a loop in the thick line and holt it between your thumb and indexfinger.
2 Pull the thin line through the loop and make 5 or more turns around both parts of the thick line.
3 Pull the thin line through the loop so that the end runs through the loop in the same way as the thin main line.
4 Wet the knot.
5 Pull the knot gently but tight.

The double-grinner

Also called double fishermens knot or stren knot.

1 Lay down the lines next to each other and make a loop in one line end.
2 Make 6 turns inside the loop but over both lines.
3 Wet the knot and pull it gently but not completely tight.
4 Repeat this for the other line.
5 Wet both the knots and the middle piece and gently pull the knots together.
6 Then pull the whole line until the knots are well together.
7 Cut the loose ends.
8 If the knot needs to be very strong, secure it with a drop of superglue.
